The 2005-06 navel harvest is almost completed. Packers are finishing their harvest of summer varities. Sizes are peaking on 88's and 72's.
Valencia harvest is in full swing in Central California DI. Most Packers are starting to struggle with regreening. Sizes are smaller than last year with so the prices on larger fruit are strong with demand good for all sizes. Southern California is shipping with strong demand for South East Asia as well as Japan.
Umina Brothers have started to ship new crop lemons and will start navels from Chile week 27 or 28. Clementine demand is very strong for the USA as many large retailers have programs in place and Chile is struggling to fill the commitments because of heavy small sizes. Chile is starting to ship kiwis in MA bags or from CA storage.
Grapes are starting in Mexico and Coachella Valley. supplies are lower this year and demand is strong because of low inventory of Chilean fruit left in the market place. The Central valley will start week28 with small volume and increase as we move into August.
